There's so much to see in South America; so many 'natural wonders'. Waterfalls and glaciers in Argentina. Enormous mountainscapes, deserts and salt flats in Chile. Jungle in Bolivia. Ancient ruins in Peru and even more jungle and mountains in Ecuador.
Through volunteering in Chile, Bolivia and Ecuador we hope to explore the wilderness and truly experience a totally different experience to anything we're used to. We also absolutely love animals, so we really want to work with them and learn about the issues regarding their circumstances, such as the black market trade, deforestation etc. By understanding the issues we hope to be able to inform others of the reality of the situations and how they can help. It would be a fine day the day animal mistreatment could be put to a stop.
Also, the current economic crisis and thus major lack of any half decent jobs has upset our post-graduation motivation somewhat. It's frustrating and demoralising and frankly we're fed up with it. On the brighter side though I believe such grievances have ultimately given us this time to use for exploration!
